Never Forget
Special devotional.
Today marks the 20th anniversary of one of the most horrifying days in American history. There are no words of comfort for those who mourn. I know, I made this painting while morning my father in 2016. One day a visitor looked at the painting hanging in my home and asked, “did it help?” No! No image, words, tears, hugs, or amount of time will help.
But the promises from the Lord does!
He promises, “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth!” While the pain remains, there is comfort in knowing that no matter what happens God is still in control. The does not mean bad things don’t happen. They do. There are volumes written on this topic, but I’ll tell you this. He gave us life, and He also gave us free will. We have the freedom to choose life or to choose death. Sadly, many choose the latter. Every day we get closer to His imminent return when all will bow down to His name and we will see justice for humanity’s injustice. His true and reliable promises provide peace and comfort amid chaos.
