What do you hope for?

Hope (Eph 1.18-19)

We often use the word HOPE flippantly, “I hope it doesn’t rain today” or “I hope I get that job.” Perhaps that’s because Webster defines hope as something we desire with anticipation. Biblically though, hope much is so much more than that, is a joyful and confident expectation of eternal salvation.

It’s no wonder that we often see the words, FAITH, HOPE, JOY, LOVE, in a plethora of home ornaments and decorations? One cannot truly exist without the other and the thread that binds them together is Jesus. The HOPE of salvation is a sure thing for those who believe in Jesus. It’s His LOVE for humanity that nailed Him to the cross. It’s our FAITH in the Son that brings us to the foot of that cross on our knees. And oh, the JOY when we allow Him to permeate our lives!

Prayer:

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength. (Eph 1.18-19)
