Need a Way Out?
I love the challenge of a maze—the pursuit of a goal with hidden dead ends and wrong turns along the way. Life is like that too, isn’t it? Although the fun vanishes when you get stuck and are unable to find your way out. It’s in those difficult times that even praying can be a challenge. Your anguish is so deep, hurtful, or complicated you can’t even begin to articulate your thoughts and feelings. The comforting news is that you don’t have to.
Back to that maze idea, have you ever seen a mouse inside a maze? As the knowledgeable onlooker, you know the right way and the wrong turns because your vantage point is above the little mouse. The same is true with God, only He’s not just knowledgeable He is Omniscient, Omnipresent, and Omnipotence. In times of deep anguish just cry out to Him, no words are necessary. In Romans 8.26-27 we learn that the “Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words, and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.”
Prayer: Lord, thank you for sending the Holy Spirit who intercedes for me when life is just too much to handle. Hear the cries of my heart Lord. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
