I AM!

They took Jesus for questioning so that they could find an excuse to kill him. Here in Mark, we see the High Priest ask Him, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?”

In response, Jesus says, “Ἐγώ εἰμι” or “I -- I AM.” WHAT???!!! He was claiming to be GOD! The great “I AM!” They thought that a mere man said this—no wonder they wanted to Kill Him!

So many misunderstandings! Jesus wasn’t blaspheming, He actually WAS (and IS) God! Today, as you look out at your day, what “misunderstanding” might you (might I!) have about God? How might we not fully understand who He is and what He is doing in our lives and the world?

Lord, open my eyes even more to who You are and what You are doing!

A Prayer: Lord, thank You for this day and what You are doing in my life through both the trials and the blessings. Please give me the courage to trust You. Open my eyes to what You are doing and where You are leading me. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
