How you treat your body matters.

How you treat your body matters. It's time to start treating it like the Temple that it is!

Look, here in 1 Cor 6, Paul warns Christians against sexual immorality, and his example is joining the Temple of God with a temple prostitute of another god (commonplace for a hook up at that time). Yikes! I mean imagine the "holiest" person that you know--the godliest Spirit-filled person (have that person in mind, what's their name?) — imagine that person accidentally walking in a club and some random coming up rubbing up against them hoping for a hook-up. Gross!

Well friend, that Holy person is you. God is calling you to put yourself in healthy spaces with healthy people and *demand* that your body be treated well.

But here's the catch: Being good to yourself is hard. If you have a broken spirit, you crave attention and acceptance and love (even from some random who doesn't really care about you at all). You're addicted to that relationship, that bottle, that pain.

I'm so sorry, I know how much that hurts.

I also know that Jesus has come to heal. He wants to heal you so that you are able to be good to your body. Will you let Him? Will you ask Him to heal you from all of that brokenness?

Prayer: Lord, thank You for loving me just as I am. Heal my broken heart, mind, and body so that I am able to be better to myself. Set me from my fears, addictions, and unhealthy relationships. Give me the courage to ask for prayer, to ask for help. In Jesus' name, Amen.
