Want Peace, Love, and Joy?
You’ve seen the coexist bumper sticker with multiple religious symbols, right? Nice idea, isn’t it? Who doesn’t want a world full of peace, love, and joy? This great “idea” comes from deep within our souls. It was given to us by our Creator, it’s called Eden (AKA Paradise, Heaven). It was a place where humans and beasts lived in peace and walked with God—a perfectly harmonious place. The yearning to return to it plagues us. Everyone, even atheists, feels it, even if the source is unknown. So, what’s the problem? We are. We try to fill the void in all sorts of ways, but nothing ever truly satisfies.
You see evil lurked in paradises and seduced Adam and Eve with lies. As a result, they were cast out and the “door” was closed behind them. But God loves us too much to leave us in darkness. He made a way back to Him—and paradise. The way is Jesus. He is the narrow door. But why can’t there be many doors you ask? Because God closed the door to keep sin out and the key that opens it is costly. Only one person is perfect enough to be able to pay—Jesus. He paid for our sins with His blood on the cross.
Don’t be deceived, that bummer sticker sounds nice but the lie under the warm fuzzy feeling insinuates that all religions have a door to paradise. They do have doors, they have wide-open doors, but all lead away from paradise. Don’t listen to the lies. Listen to He who made the narrow door. (Luke 13:23-25)
“I [Jesus] Am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved” -- John 10:9
A prayer; Lord, thank you for your sacrifice. Thank you for your unconditional love. I pray for my friends and family that are deceived by the lies of the Evil one. I pray you to remove the blinders from their eyes so they can see You, holding the narrow door open, waiting for them to enter if they accept the price You paid for them. Amen.
