Bio
Alan is a self-taught artist who embraces the mysteries of The Faith with his work. He is informed by the art of the ancient church, particularly the Romanesque and Medieval art periods. Alan’s goal is to create art that catches the eye, instructs the faith, and leads the viewer closer to Jesus . . . who is all of the above.
Alan is currently exploring mixed media, he also works in acrylics, pen and ink, and colored pencils. One of his unique techniques is working with wax resist and dye to create Pysanky (A beautiful tradition of Ukrainian Easter eggs).
Alan is a retired parochial day school teacher. He taught Religion and Social Studies to middle school children. Alan is married with two children and three grandchildren
