How Many Times?

It’s the start of a new year.

Let’s begin with a quick look back. Did last year’s resolutions involve health, relationships, and/or finances? How did you do? Did you exceed your expectations, or did you fall miserably short? What will you do differently to assure success this year? Are you the type to set high goals, then work yourself to the bone to achieve them or do you set the bar so low as to not be disappointed if you don’t get there?

Let me propose something different. How important are those goals in the larger scheme of things? Will extra income, the perfect weight, or the mate of your dreams bring you eternal joy? No. But there is one goal you can achieve right now! One that will never disappoint you, will never fade, cannot be taken away, and will last eternally.

Start 2022 by giving your life to Jesus Christ. How? With a heartfelt sincere prayer. . .

Admit and confess that you are a sinner and need His forgiveness; believe in your heart that Jesus died for you, rose from the grave for you, and wants a real relationship with you. Ask Him to take your shattered broken soul and replace it with new spiritual birth.

If you have already received Jesus as your Lord and Savior, then, this year make a goal to share His Good News with last least one person.

This devotional was inspired by 1 Peter 1.3-5. “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.”
